Blow of northeast in Manche sea as we say here. The wind put up the sea, and its whistling lets no place to those who would'nt know how to fly over it. Only some white arrows streak the sky, Northern gannets(Morus bassanus) found their kingdom...

The night slowly comes to rock the Norman countryside. The heat of the day makes the rare still accessible water sources very attractive for the bats which find there of what to quench their thirst besides a plentiful food, as this common pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pipistrellus) hunting a mosquito.

Winter spoils us this year with several snow events, even into the Cotentin! If it makes travel difficult sometimes, it's an opportunity to rediscover the landscape in winter moods as here at Vauville cove in Hague.

The snowy episode that hit most of France these days has been the opportunity to photograph birds in unusual conditions for the month of December, even more for regions where snow is rare, as here in Cotentin. Faced with snow showers which follow, this little European Robin (Erithacus rubecula) seemed a little disoriented. Fortunately for him, it quickly melted.

Last day of November, and blow wind on the Cotentin, but something less common, full north this time. 17h, the Gatteville lighthouse comes alive and starts its flash, it will be the only ray of light all day ... A cloud darker than the other passes over the giant rock, like to come take it ...

Spring forerunners are many in the nature. Having followed assidument the wintering of the short-eared owls (Asio flammeus) , birds begin to leave their wintering sites to go to reproduce more in the North and east of Europe. Some are still present, and take advantage of spring conditions. They then have to live with the first mosquitoes (all the clear petit points on the photo), the photographer also...

Winter is not ended yet, but common buzzards(Buteo buteo) already bustle about their territory protection with the aim of the season of reproduction to come. The best sites are defended beaks and greenhouses, but when a pursuit or an intimidation are not enough, buzzards can come there to wings as here. The altercation lasted good about ten minutes, but both birds went out of it unhurt.

La Hague, with the cliffs of the ripped coast, is the Mecca for whom like great landscapes... This small handle, which carries the name of " round bottom " is separated only by the "côte soufflée"(the coast blown) headland of by that of Ecalgrain bay, bigger, more accessible and more known then. The good weather is unusual here in winter, and it is the opportunity to seize atmospheres restful, on this coast usually beaten by winds.
