Blow of northeast in Manche sea as we say here. The wind put up the sea, and its whistling lets no place to those who would'nt know how to fly over it. Only some white arrows streak the sky, Northern gannets(Morus bassanus) found their kingdom...

First video: Northern Goshawk meal
By Christophe Doucet on 12 May 10, 13:33 - Fresh from the field
While video was available for years in the digital compact cameras, it spreads slowly on digital SLRs, like the Nikon D300s used here. This is an opportunity to make small sequences complementary to our pictures. Seing our favorite subjects moving is an interesting addition to static images.
Any idea of the menu? :-)
But you can leave your opinions, comments are opened to this opportunity!

By Christophe Doucet on 28 Apr 10, 21:01 - Fresh from the field

Cormorant in snow storm
By Christophe Doucet on 12 Feb 10, 18:24 - Fresh from the field
New snowy event that February, the winter definitely have spoiled us this year. If this time Cotentin was spared, snow was present from the center department. In the sea, flurries followed each other throughout the day, Ideal for photos in winter environments. But wind was also very strong and visibility was often useless.

European robin under snow
By Christophe Doucet on 18 Dec 09, 23:14 - Fresh from the field
The snowy episode that hit most of France these days has been the opportunity to photograph birds in unusual conditions for the month of December, even more for regions where snow is rare, as here in Cotentin. Faced with snow showers which follow, this little European Robin (Erithacus rubecula) seemed a little disoriented. Fortunately for him, it quickly melted.

Celestial point

October this year seems to rhyme with Indian Autumn, but Greylag geese(Anser anser) don't mistake, they have already begun their post-nuptial migration. I heard this little group before seeing it on sky although tormented. Hardly time to make some images that they had disappeared.

Pictures of Quebec
By Christophe Doucet on 22 Jul 09, 10:42 - Fresh from the field
My stay in Quebec was the opportunity to discover a faun totally new and different from the European one; even if the resemblance is striking with some European species. So this Canada Grouse female closely looks like our european ones.

Capercaillie dance
By Christophe Doucet on 4 May 09, 17:38 - Fresh from the field
In the middle of the taiga, between end of April and beginning of May, capercaillies (Tetrao urogallus) choose a discreet alcove where they try to seduce females. Contrary to the small devils of the peat bogs who get in several kilometers, male singing is quite on the quiet and so discreet as impressive the bird is. But the parades are not less spectacular there, because males to indicate their presence to the rivals but also to the females jump up in impressive bangings of wings.
